Additional League Information

In-Town Program

U-6 - Games/practices are held each Saturday during the season. These sessions will usually be held at 7:30 or 8:30am at Fino Field or Woodland field in Milford. The sessions will last for 1 hour. The correct ball size for this age group is a #3 soccer ball. Additional practice time may be held later in the day on some Fridays and Saturdays.

U-8 - Games are held each Saturday at Fino Field, Plains Park or Woodland Field in Milford. Start times for U-8 & U-10 games vary each week between 9:00am and 4:00pm.

Typically, there is one practice per week (held on a weeknight) for this age group. Please note however, that practices are held at the discretion of the volunteer coach based on his/her availability/work schedule, etc.

The correct ball size for these age groups is a #4 soccer ball.

NOTE: The in-town program is currently only for some Pre-Kindergarten through 4th grade students (i.e. children with birthdates no earlier than December 31, 2011.) There has not been enough interest to support an in-town league beyond this.

Travel Program

Travel tryouts are held during May of each year for the following Fall and Spring seasons. See our website www.mhysa.com for additional details of the travel tryout schedule (travel evaluations).

The MHYSA Travel program is affiliated with the Boston Area Youth Soccer League (BAYS). Teams are organized by gender, age and skill level. These teams travel to other towns to play in a more competitive game situation.
Travel teams start at Grade 3 through Grade 8. Depending on the number of players, older aged teams can sometimes be fielded for the Spring season Grade 10 or 12.

Games are held each Saturday, with start times for these games typically between 9:00am and 4:00pm. Typically home games are played at Milford High School & Plains Park in Milford. Teams typically play a 10 game season, 5 games are played home and 5 away.

Typically there are one or two practices per week (usually weeknights) depending on the age group. Please note however, that practices are held at the discretion of the volunteer coach based on his/her availability/work schedule, etc.

The correct ball size for U-10 through U-12 is #4 soccer ball. The correct ball size for U-14 through U-18 is #5 soccer ball.

Uniform Requirements:

Shin guards are required for all programs. Cleats are not required. If you are going to purchase, no metal cleats are allowed. Please make sure you purchase soccer cleats and not football/baseball turf shoes.

MHYSA in-town and travel shirts are available and must be purchased from Milford Hopedale Store (Central St, Milford).

In-town shirts are reversible, red and black. The travel shirts have red & black stripes. The number is not important, therefore shirts can be purchased at any time.

In town shorts and socks do not need to match the team. Travel shorts and socks should be black.

Refund Policy:  MHYSA has a no-refund policy.  Unless there is a medical issue, then we would need a doctor note.
